THE QUICK BIT
I test gear, tell stories, create portraits, chase landscapes, and drink a lot of coffee. When I'm not being a full-time dad, I work as a freelance photographer and writer for leading publications, manufacturers, and PR agencies. Former Deputy Editor at Amateur Photographer Magazine, now specialising in honest camera reviews, technical features, portrait sessions, and capturing moments in nature.

THE LONGER BIOGRAPHY BIT
It started with a photocopied magazine I made as a kid (sold to very supportive teachers), led to eight years as Deputy Editor at Amateur Photographer Magazine, and evolved into a career that's even seen me presenting and editing the Photo Gear News YouTube channel.
These days, when I'm not being a full-time dad (cue the school runs and perpetual hunt for lost shoes), I'm the guy playing with cameras and photo tech before it hits the shelves. I've written reviews and features for titles such as TechRadar, Trusted Reviews, and The Metro, crafted content for leading manufacturers and PR agencies, and spent way too much time building my Instagram community.
I believe in telling stories that matter – finding that sweet spot between technical know-how and "here's what you actually need to know," whether I'm deep-diving into gear reviews, creating content with manufacturers, or profiling the photographers who inspire us. You'll find me testing the latest kit, perfecting portrait lighting setups, or chasing landscapes with an inevitably cold coffee in hand.
WHAT NOW?
If you're into cameras, coffee, and creative conversations or are looking for portraits that go beyond the ordinary, you're in the right place. I'm always up for collaborations, whether that's testing new gear, crafting features, creating manufacturer content, or making images that make people stop scrolling.
Want to work together? Just reach out. Fair warning, though - I'll probably suggest meeting for coffee.
P.S. Those who've read this far deserve to know: yes, I have drawers and cupboards full of photography accessories kept "just in case." No, I don't need help organising them. Yes, my wife disagrees with both of these statements.
